Below is an image of the structural embodied carbon trends for various building types taken with permission from the Carbon Leadership Forum’s Benchmarking Study. The image is indicative of the type of data that the SE 2050 database will provide. The SE 2050 database will collect and publish the current trends of structural embodied carbon that will be used to establish a national set of benchmarks. The benchmarks will be used as a way to establish appropriate reference buildings and appropriate reduction targets over time to achieve zero embodied carbon by 2050.
